In June 2007, the City of Fountain Valley broke ground for the Fountain Valley Recreation Center Master Plan Expansion Project. Willdan will be responsible for construction management, administration, and inspection, and will provide materials testing, surveying and construction engineering. Willdan had previously assisted the City with civil and landscape architecture design of the $17 million project, which is expected to be complete in one year.

The project includes:

• A central, landscaped spine road
• Major new sports fields
• Natural surface walking/jogging trail
• Large picnic and sports area with an outdoor stage
• Redesigned parking
• A new centralized playground area
