The City of Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division has been working hard to develop programs, activities and events to enhance the quality of life in Fountain Valley.

By participating in a Recreation and Community Services program, we can sincerely say that the benefits are endless, yet not intangible. We can measure the improvement to the quality of life in Fountain Valley, because you, as a participant, develop a sense of accomplishment; explore your creativity and promote good health and well being.

In partnership with the Fountain Valley Community Foundation we are proud to introduce the Honored Heroes Banner Program to salute Fountain Valley residents serving active duty in the United States Armed Forces.

To qualify, an honoree must be an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces and either be a current Fountain Valley Resident or be a past resident with immediate family currently residing in Fountain Valley.

Banners will be displayed continuously from May 1 until Veterans Day. At that time honorees that are no longer on active duty will be presented with their banner at the city's annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Those still on active duty have the option of having their banner placement renewed. They will be stored securely and hung again in May.

The cost to participate in the program is $200, which includes the purchase and installation of the banner at an existing banner location. If the participant would like to have the banner displayed in a particular location that is not yet fitted with hardware, this can be done for an additional $100. The cost for renewal is $70.
