ELECTIONS
The Fountain Valley City Council is comprised of five Council members. These positions are elected by Fountain Valley voters at large, and elections are held every two years. The offices of the City Council are non-partisan. Council members each serve a four-year term. At the next City election, to be held on November 6, 2012, the voters will elect two (2) Council members.
To be eligible to be elected to the office of Council member, a person must be a registered voter in the City of Fountain Valley at the time nomination papers are issued. The first date for obtaining nomination papers from the City Clerk for the General Election in November 2012 is 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012.
