Medical Services

Medical Emergencies
Medical emergencies constitute the majority of emergency incidents handled by fire departments. In 2004, approximately 78% of all emergency calls in Fountain Valley were for medical assistance.

The Fountain Valley Fire Department contracts with CARE Ambulance to provide Emergency Medical Transportation Services. Each time a Fountain Valley apparatus responds to a medical emergency, CARE ambulance also responds. For detailed information on CARE Ambulance Services, visit their website at www.careambulance.net.

Non-Resident Paramedic Fees
The Fountain Valley Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Service (EMS) in the form of Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) to residents and non-residents alike. Non-residents receive the same high level of service as Fountain Valley residents. The cost to the City to provide Paramedic service continues to rise with the increased cost of equipment, supplies, training, and mandated programs. To offset these costs and to continue with the current level of service to residents and non-residents, a paramedic assessment fee of $350 is charged to non-residents. Non-resident fees are billed and collected through Care Ambulance Services. For information regarding a bill, please contact Care Ambulance at the website above.
