The City of Fountain Valley’s Planning Department provides services designed to protect the public’s health safety and welfare. Within the Planning Department is the Planning Division, the Building Department, Housing and Community Development and Code Enforcement. The Planning Department focuses on the future as well as the present in its mission to ensure orderly development throughout the City.

Planning Division The Planning Division is charged with advising the public on matters pertaining to the City's Zoning Code and General Plan, and ensuring that new development or modifications to existing properties are compliant. |

Building Division The Building Division ensures that buildings, structures, retrofits, upgrades, etc. are constructed in conformance with the California Building Code.. |
