STREET RECONSTRUCTION pROJECT TI123

The City has scheduled a street rehabilitation and resurfacing project on Edinger Avenue from Harbor Boulevard to the Santa Ana River and Euclid Street from Edinger Avenue to north City limits, Project TI123. The project consists of removing and reconstructing deteriorated sections of the street and placing a rubber asphalt concrete overlay covering the entire street.
The project is partially funded by an Orange County Proposition 1B grant. Thanks to this project, an approximate 2,600 waste tires will be diverted from California landfills. The resurfacing and reconstruction project is necessary to maintain a smooth riding surface after years of weathering and continual use.SIGNAL UPGRADE PROJECT TI107

The City’s contractor, California Professional Engineering, began construction of the Signal Upgrade Project at the intersection of Newhope Street/ Warner Avenue and Heil Avenue/ Euclid Street. The project consists of upgrading/modifying the existing traffic signals, which includes closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, light-emitting diode (LED) signal indications, countdown pedestrian indications with the international hand/man symbols, and upgraded ADA pedestrian access curb ramps. The existing traffic signals were originally installed in the 1970’s and have outlived their service life.
Construction began Monday, April 9, 2012, and is scheduled to be completed by June 11, 2012, subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. Work will not be scheduled on weekends or legal holiday. Several traffic lanes may be closed at any given time; however, there will be at least one lane open to traffic at all times. Work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and lane closure hours will be from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Construction alert signs have been erected in several locations leading to the project to remind motorists of the construction work. While the project has been planned to minimize impacts to the traveling public, some construction impacts and inconvenience cannot be avoided. As with any major construction project, expect long traffic delays and temporary lane closures. Motorists are highly encouraged to use alternate routes during peak travel time. The City asks for your cooperation and consideration while construction is underway.Please drive carefully through the construction zones.

The City has scheduled a residential roadway rehabilitation project within quadrants: B5, B6, & B7 (see locations by clicking here). The project consists of placing a 1-1/2” thick asphalt cap that is necessary to maintain a smooth riding surface after years of weathering and continual use. The project will also include a significant amount of replacement of damaged sidewalk, curb, and gutter.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, November 7, 2011, and be completed by mid February 2012, subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. Working hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. In an effort to accommodate school traffic, working hours for Santa Maria, El Lago, Santa Elise, El Presidente, Santa Cecilia, Ottawa River, Santa Arabella, Mackenzie River, Santa Carlotta, Santa Joanana, and Rhine River shall be from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturdays only.
While the project has been planned to minimize impacts to the traveling public, some construction inconveniences cannot be avoided. Your streets may be closed for up to 4 hours during construction; however, access to residences will be maintained. Please refer to the “No Parking” signs for dates of construction, which will be posted 48-hours prior to work beginning. SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT SF620-2 – TALBERT AVENUE FROM FOSTER/CASHEW TO BROOKHURST STREET
The City has scheduled a sewer improvement project at Talbert Avenue from Foster/Cashew to Brookhurst Street within Fountain Valley.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, August 22, 2011, and finish Sept 2, subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. The portion of the work in the intersection of Talbert Avenue and Brookhurst Street will be completed at night to minimize traffic congestion. Work will not be scheduled on weekends or holidays. Work hours, lane closures, and parking restrictions for day work will occur between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. However, the City and its contractor will make every effort possible to accommodate access during construction.

Work is tentatively scheduled to begin next Monday (8/15) night and scheduled to be completed by Friday (8/19), subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. Work will not be scheduled on weekends or holidays. The first two days of work shall be done at night and this work, lane closures, and parking restrictions will occur between the hours of 9:00 pm – 6:00 am. The day-time work shall take place from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The City and its contractor will make every effort possible to accommodate access during construction. The contractor will also provide notices.

Citywide sewer replacement project sf620-2
Tuesday, June 14, 2011, kicked off the second year of the City’s Sewer Replacement Program which prioritizes the rebuilding of the City’s decades old sewer infrastructure. This project outlines a progressive 95 working day plan to rehabilitate and/or replace approximately 5,000 lineal feet of sewer pipe.
