Electronic Waste Disposal
Do you have old, broken or unwanted computers, televisions or other home electronic items that you want to dispose of? Well, don’t place them in the trash! Instead, help keep the harmful substances in these items out the landfill by bringing them to a free City of Fountain Valley electronic waste (e-waste) collection event.
E-waste can contain toxic substances like lead, cadmium, and mercury that can contaminate the land, water, and air if not properly disposed. In addition to keeping toxic waste out of the landfill, there is also material that can be recovered and processed into new products.
To help residents dispose of e-waste, the City offers free e-waste recycling events. This service helps residents to properly dispose of their e-waste. Acceptable household e-waste items include the following: televisions, PC systems, laptops, monitors, home entertainment systems, cell phones, desktop copiers, printers, fax machines, keyboards, DVD and VCR players, audio devices, and loose wires in working condition or not.
Upcoming City of Fountain e-waste events are:

4/21/12 - North Parking Lot of Recreation Center
7/28/12 - In parking lot between Fields A & B at Sports Park
