On February 11, 2012, the Fountain Valley Community Foundation in partnership with the Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division will host the annual Anytime Fitness 5K Fun Run (previously called Fit to be Square 5K). Energy Efficiency Project

In an effort to more energy efficient, the City is currently taking steps to replace its Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) units. HVAC units on top of the Police Departments and Recreation Centers roofs were removed and replaced and the heating boiler in the Recreation Center was replaced.

On Saturday, January 21, the Fountain Valley Community Foundation will be hosting an electronic waste (e-waste) collection event for local citizens to drop-off their unwanted electronic items.

Holiday Trash Collection & Street Sweeping Schedule

Rainbow Disposal observes the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
Christmas: As the December 25 Christmas holiday is on a Sunday, Rainbow takes Monday the 26th as their holiday. All trash pick-up is pushed back one day this week.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Once again, Rainbow Disposal will recycle non-artificial Christmas trees placed at the curb for collection. Flocked trees are also accepted. The collected trees will be shredded into ground cover material. Recycling Christmas trees helps to extend the limited lifespan of our local landfills.
