General Plan Update
Did you know the City is updating its General Plan?
The Fountain Valley General Plan is the primary long-range policy and planning document guiding the city’s physical development, conservation, and improvement. Every city in California is required by state law to adopt a general plan containing goals and
policies that expresses the community’s vision of its future, improves public safety, and enhances access to and the use of available resources.
The City’s General Plan was last comprehensively updated in 1995. For more information review the project Revised Fact Sheet, Public Involvement Plan, and Schedule.
The City is preparing an environmental impact report (EIR) to evaluate the potential impacts of the General Plan update. A Notice of Preparation has been prepared and can be downloaded by clicking here.
