On Friday, January 27, 2017, the Fire Department held its annual department recognition ceremony with a spotlight on:
- Our FIRST volunteers who go on over 1,500 inspections and save the department/City around $450,000 over the course of a year.
- Jim McLain who was recognized for his dedicated service to the City and to the fire department’s disaster preparedness program. Jim has been a volunteer with the City since 1988.
Representatives from Supervisor Andrew Do’s and Supervisor Michelle Steel’s office came to the ceremony and handed out certificates of appreciation to our volunteers.
The night ended with the presentation of the Firefighter of the Year and the Ron Chamberlain Awards. A big shout out goes to FF/PM Craig Ritter for receiving the Firefighter of the Year Award, and to FF/PM Mike Echan for receiving the Ron Chamberlain Award.
Congratulations to everyone!
