Construction of the rehabilitation and renovation of the City Hall Fountain project commenced on July 16, 2018 and is expected to be complete in mid-November 2018.
The water feature at City Hall was turned off in 2015 to conserve water during the State of California’s drought emergency. Since the drought ended in 2017, the City decided to restart Fountain Valley’s iconic water feature and include drought tolerant landscaping to reduce water usage.
Once completed, the fountain will include new renovations and will be put back into service. The upper tier of the fountain will be converted to a landscape area that will consist of drought tolerant plants with a drip irrigation system; and the lower tier will include a smaller size water feature.
The fountain was re-designed to include long-term sustainability, reduce water usage and enhance the entry for all visitors of Fountain Valley!
