The City of Fountain Valley values the important role that trees have in our community and diligently manages an urban forest of 12,462 trees located in City parks, civic facilities, right-of-ways, medians, and parkways.
Fountain Valley’s homeowners play an important role in maintaining the City’s urban forest by properly caring for and watering their parkway trees. Residential parkway trees belong to the homeowner, however, the City trims them every 2-3 years to maintain right-of-way clearance for pedestrians and vehicles.
Sadly, many parkway trees have been removed and not replaced over the years, leaving many residential streets looking bare. In order to encourage and promote parkway reforestation, the City will order, deliver and plant a new parkway tree of the homeowner’s choosing for just $35! Homeowners who are interested in increasing the curb appeal of their homes and beautifying their neighborhoods can stop by City Hall or contact the Public Works Department at 714-593-4433 for more information.
