City Construction Alerts and Updates

The City is underway with a street rehabilitation and resurfacing project on Newhope Street from Talbert Avenue to Warner Avenue. The project is necessary to maintain a smooth riding surface after years of weathering and continual use. Construction has begun and is expected to be complete by mid-September 2019, subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. Work will not be scheduled on weekends or holidays. Several traffic lanes may be closed at any given time; however, there will be at least one lane open to traffic at all times. Work hours will be from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and lane closure hours will be from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.


As with any major construction project, expect long traffic delays and temporary lane closures. Motorists are highly encouraged to use alternate routes during peak travel time.
The City asks for the public’s cooperation and consideration while construction is underway. Please drive carefully through the construction zones.

Construction Alert: Residential Roadway Rehabilitation Project 
Quadrant H3, J1 and J2

The City is also underway with a residential roadway rehabilitation project for quadrants H3, J1 and J2. The project consists of placing a 2 ½” thick asphalt cap that is necessary to maintain a smooth riding surface after years of weathering and continual use; replacing damaged sidewalk and curb & gutter; installing ADA curb ramps; and removing / replacing parkway trees at warranted locations. Construction has begun, and expected to be complete by the first week of September 2019, subject to weather delays and other unforeseen conditions. Working hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays.

As with any major construction project, expect traffic delays and temporary street closures. The City asks for your cooperation and consideration while construction is underway. Please drive carefully through the construction zones.
