A new building is being constructed on the back lot of Fire Station 2. The building is needed so the department could house all fire department vehicles. Fire Station 2 houses Valley Engine 32, the state California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) wildland brush rig as well as a historic 1949 Seagrave fire engine that served in Fountain Valley as a reserve engine from 1969 – 1982.
This new building will house the historic engine as well as the CalOES engine. The CalOES engine is used for wildland incidents throughout the state during wildfire season and is available as a reserve engine for FVFD to use within the city.
This project, set to be complete by this summer, has been a strong collaboration between FV Fire and our Public Works department.
