Citywide, the operating budget is $107.6 million, an increase of 10.8% over the Adopted Fiscal Year 2020/21 budget. These expenses are supported by $103 million in revenue, an increase of 11.2% percent from the current fiscal year, and use of one-time Capital Improvement Reserve funding.
The Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2021/22 for the General Fund is $58 million in operating expenses and $63.5 million in operating revenue, with an additional $9.1 million for one-time capital projects.
The Proposed Fiscal Year 2021/22 Annual Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program is balanced, maintains essential public services and supports capital improvements while continuing the City’s commitment to restoring reserves and paying down debt. The City’s financial policies, guided by the Measure HH “Responsible Spending Pledge” and the 20-Year Financial Plan, aim to ensure the City’s long-term fiscal sustainability and ability to adapt quickly to changing economic climates. The budget will be adopted on June 1, 2021.
