On April 29, 2016, at 7:00 P.M., the Fountain Valley Police Department responded to a robbery in progress at 7Eleven located at 10950 Warner Ave. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed two male suspects, Garcia and Figueroa, were in the process of stealing a case of beer when they were confronted by the clerk of the business. During the process of the theft, Garcia threatened the clerk with an 18” lug nut wrench. Garcia and Figueroa fled on foot to a vehicle that was waiting in a nearby parking lot on the west side of the business. The clerk observed the suspect vehicle travel south through the parking lot; where he lost sight of the vehicle. The first officer on scene was able to broadcast that the suspect vehicle was a white passenger vehicle occupied by two male subjects. Another Fountain Valley Police Officer located the vehicle traveling eastbound Talbert approximately one mile from the crime scene. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Harbor Blvd north of MacArthur and the occupants were detained without incident. Garcia and Figueroa were both identified by the victim and arrested for robbery. The weapon and case of beer were located in the suspect vehicle. Garcia and Figueroa were booked at Orange County Jail.
