On May 13, 2016, at approximately 2:37 a.m., Fountain Valley Police Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Euclid Street/Lavender Avenue on a vehicle occupied by three males. A records check of the suspects revealed that all three suspects had previous felony convictions plus one was on parole. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded firearm under the front passenger seat. A records check of the firearm revealed that it was reported stolen. The investigation also revealed that all three suspects had possible gang ties.
Napoleon Van Tran (18) from Santa Ana; Jerry Huy Huynh (30) from Huntington Beach (on parole); and Kevin Tran Nguyen (18) from Westminster were all arrested for possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, felon with previous weapons charge, possession of a concealed firearm inside a vehicle, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. All three suspects were booked into Orange County Jail. Incident #16-20400.
