In an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol and drug involved traffic collisions, the Fountain Valley Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, December 16th from 9pm until 3am. The checkpoint was on Warner Avenue at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue, in the City of Fountain Valley.
A total of 701 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint and officers were able to contact 687 of the drivers. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and a second driver was arrested for felony vehicle theft. Eleven drivers were issued citations for being an unlicensed and/or suspended driver. 4 vehicles were towed and/or impounded.
